In support to people with special needs, the Brunei’s Employees Trust Fund locally known as Tabung Amanah Pekerja or TAP recently welcomes trainees of Pusat Ehsan and provided them an opportunity to carry out temporary work assignment at their company for 2 weeks.
Participated by 10 trainees with two teaching staff, the scope of assignment was to paste address stickers onto their members annual statement slips. The task was carried out from 8th of September to 20th of September, 2008 at the TAP head office at the Ministry of Finance Building in Jalan Kebangsaan.
A simple ceremony of appreciation was held upon the conclusion of their task and was attended by Jasmin Ahamad, Pusat Ehsan Head of Programme; and members of TAP executive officers and employees. All proceeds where distributed equally by 10 trainees and was presented during the ceremony. All participants were also given love gifts.
This kind of activity is a part of Pusat Ehsan mission to provide programme and services which will help students or trainees to lead lives of independence. With the vision of developing and ultimately mastery of skills needed for self sufficiency that includes real working experience.
Pusat Ehsan would like to extend special thanks to TAP management for offering the above mentioned work opportunity for people with special needs.
Likewise, Pusat Ehsan will warmly welcome any private and public sectors or organization who wished to offer temporary assignment/services/task for Pusat Ehsan trainees and students to carry out for their company. This will enable them an opportunity of self sufficiency, independence and ultimately to lead them to a normal life.
By developing this kind of activities (‘community living services’) and encouraging more participation from the public, Pusat Ehsan will be able to achieve its objective to facilitate acceptance of individuals with special needs throughout society, while working toward equalization of opportunity, especially in leading them to grow and participate as contributing members of our community.
