Pusat Ehsan staff from Bandar and Kuala Belait braches joined effort to clean its main compound in Bengkurong yesterday. It aims to provide clean, safe and healthy environment for people with special needs.

This said endeavour is Pusat Ehsan contribution to the community, corresponding to continuing effort of both public and private sectors in making our environment clean. It also hopes to inspire our society and local organization towards a meanigful and worthwhile effort.

In November 2008, it was discovered that one of the wooden bungalow was severely infested by termites and deemed as structurally hazardous to students. In response, the students from this classroom were immediately transfered to other bungalow sharing facilities with existing occupants.

To ensure an appropriate long term solution, it was decided that a new classroom shall be built. Today, after four months of construction, the new block stands proud with 6 classrooms and amenities that will promote a comfortable and conducive for learning. Students from 3 programme, namely; Early Intervention Programme (EIP), Life Skill Programme (LSP) and Special Needs Unit (SNU) will benefit to the newly constructed block.

This project was entirely funded by generous contributions of various business corporations and individuals who dedicately pour their time and energy to make this building possible. The new block is a testament of unity among organization to show kindness to the underprivelege.

Thanks for your love and kindness that you shared towards people with special needs.

Inspite of the current haze, scourching sun and the daunting influenza, Pusat Ehsan Charity Bazaar was a great success as it comes to an end! Indeed, the love for charity always concludes triumphantly. Thanks for the magnanimous support of every individual and corporation in this wonderful endeavour.

Pusat Ehsan would like to acknowledge the hardwork and dedication of everyone. Making this event into one of the well celebrated charity event in the country, wherein people from all walks of life come and contribute in unity to administer something special for our less fortunate community.

Over 80 volunteers is making a difference to the lives of the families
and of individuals with disabilities as they will participate in
tomorrow's Pusat Ehsan Charity Bazaar.

Yesterday morning, the volunteers were briefed on their assigned task. Mostly students, they pledge to offer help to Pusat Ehsan Charity Bazaar by tending booths and information counter, medical support in bringing necessary first aids, traffic management and so on.

Scheduled tomorrow (Sunday, 9th of August) the Charity Bazaar opens
from 8:30am to 5:30pm at Simpang 66-38-60, Kampong Bengkurong. Garage
sale, variety of food and beverage stalls and exciting games awaits
all visitors.

Members of Pusat Ehsan Charity Bazaar 2009 (PECB2009) Organizing Committee is working round-the-clock as the charity bazaar is nearing
to ensure the success of this year event.

From the initial planning stage through the actual event, the main objective is to create outstanding support from the public not only to the organization but to all people with special needs.

The event is scheduled on August 9, 2009 from 830am to 530pm. More than 60 booths are expected to participate to raise funds for Pusat
Ehsan.

The event will showcase high quality but affordable bazaar items and all proceeds will be given to the centre. The event will also feature new and exciting games that includes ghost house, reptile show, pony ride and magic show.

Pehin Orang Kaya Penggawa Dato Laila Utama Haji Mohamed Abbas Al-Sufri
celebrated his 83rd birthday with people with special needs at the
centre on July 18 along with his wife Datin Hajah Dayang Besar and
his family and friends.

Pusat Ehsan's Board of Trustees headed by Dato Paduka Alimin Abdul Wahab and the Organizing Committees for the upcoming Pusat Ehsan Charity Bazaar 2009 are among that was present during the memorable occassion.

The event was filled with nostalgic music and songs lead by D'Serasa
Band. Dance and song performances was contributed by students,
trainees and staff. In addition, audience was charmed by ever talented board of trustees as they serenade the crowd with beautiful songs of yesteryears.

Pehin Haji Abbas Al-Sufri, an ardent donor to Pusat Ehsan take this opportunity to altrustically celebrate his birthday with a good cause and full of
meaning. His support with organization and people with special needs
throughout the years gives us inspiration of how we should take our
role in extending our help to them.  At the conclusion of the ceremony he
embellish the program with his talent in keyboard with medleys of popular
songs of the 60's and 70s that he personally dedicate to all students.

Children of Pusat Ehsan are all smile as they sing and dance in tune of
the music. They surely had the great time in celebrating the event as they felt the sense of belonginess and the true meaning of love that transpire
towards them throughout the celebration.

An auspicious donation to Pusat Ehsan and five other charity organization was received at the conclusion of the successful Consumer Fair Part IV at ICC last Sunday.

Pusat Ehsan genially received a B$1,000 cheque donation from this prestigious and well esteemed event. Witnessed and graced the ceremony was the guest of honour, Pehin Orang Kaya Dewa Pahlawan Dato Paduka Awang Haji Dani bin Hj Ibrahim, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs. The cheque was handed by the Chairman of Sunlit Advertising Sdn Bhd., Pengiran Salleh Ab Rahaman and Sunlit Advertising Managing Director, Mr Jackson Ting.

The 4-day event attracted a record of more than an average of 14,000 visitors a day with 300 participating booths, mostly are from small and medium entrepreneurs. In addition exhibition booths and donation boxes of all known charity organizations in the country was set up to promote public awareness and to attract support.

Pusat Ehsan extends warmest thanks to the Organizing Committee of this year Consumer Fair and the public for their continued heart felt support to the centre.

Pusat Ehsan together with the Dental department under the Ministry of Health started the oral health screening for students yesterday. The activity catered for almost 20 students with special needs, who are at high risk of having dental and oral diseases.

The oral health screening and dental hygiene workshop aims to promote early detection and intervention for all students and trainees of the centre. This activity will be conducted for four consecutive Thursdays, which will also highlight towards education and awareness for all family members about the child's current oral status.

Pusat Ehsan wish to thank the Ministry of Health for their continuing support with regards to the health of people with special needs.

Pusat Ehsan held its Hari Raya Celebration yesterday at the centre.

The celebration was attended by Pusat Ehsan Chairperson, Her Royal Highness Princess Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah accompanied by Her Royal Highness Fadzilah Lubabul Bulqiah.

The said event was organized to appreciate everyone contribution to the
centre's year round operation and aimed at fostering closer ties among
all the staff, family members, friends, administration and sponsors.
The said event was also intended to give opportunity for Pusat Ehsan
students to mingle together with other individuals and experienced the
joy of celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Also present, were Senior Board of Trustee, Dato Paduka Alimin Abd Wahab, Operation Trustee, Pengiran Datin Hajah Noraini Bin Pg Abd Momin and Policy Planning Trustee Haji Ahmad bin Abd Rahman.

Students, trainees, local artists together with Board of Directors performed on stage to liven up the festivity.

The Pusat Ehsan Hari Raya celebration was successfully organized with contribution of the following generous donors: Intan Electric Co Sdn Bhd, Mag Star Salon, Hiew H.Y. Construction and Mr. Ching Chen Kong, Jack Ting of Citineon Diplays and Construction, Ying Mars Trading, Eric Wang Fot Boon and Arthini Cafe and Catering.

Pusat Ehsan Clean-Up Campaign is a movement that shares common goal as other clean-up drive – to clean and conserve our environment. The Centre initiative would like to play an important role to inspire our community to instigate in keeping our surroundings clean and green. And bringing the people with special needs the opportunity to be responsible citizen and cultivate the idea that they could help our nation in this simple task.
